When choosing a lipstick color, you should take into consideration your eye color, skin color and hair color.

Put a lipstick on your wrist to get the actual appearance. People with light skin look great with medium brown, red lipstick plum, pink beige, shimmery pink and mocha browns.  People with brown skin look good in lipstick shades of warm browns, dark blue, creamy coffees, deep pinks and deep caramels. An olive skin could go for plums, brownish reds, auburn, dark berries, chocolate and mahogany. For brown or black skin, the best options would be deep plums, wine, blue-based reds, variety of brown shades, mahogany, sheer pinks and berries.

Another thing to consider is the eye color. For brown eyes, brown, red and pink look great. Blue eyes look wonderful in beige or pink while green eyes fit with red, orange, brown. When it comes to hair, note that blondes could go for plum, pink, mauve, red soft corals and reddish brown. Brunettes look great in warm reds, lilac, pink, brown-pink and beige. Redheads will look wonderful in coppers, orange or browns, shimmery bronzes, brownish red and sheer colors. Women with dark hair could go for various red shades, coral, fuchsia, vivid roses, berry, burgundy, geranium and plum.
